Terms & Conditions of Sales Contract

All Goods Are Supplied To The Following Conditions:

All prices are exclusive of VAT at the applicable rate. They cover a one day hire period only (inclusive of one day’s delivery and collection either side of the day of hire unless previously agreed in writing). Additional charges will be made if items are not returned on a specified date at a rate equivalent to 50% of the daily hire charge unless otherwise agreed beforehand. Longer periods of hire at discounted rates are available upon request.

Deposit / Payment & Cancellations
A non-refundable deposit of £50 or 25% of order value (whichever is the higher) will be required to confirm booking.
Full payment of balance including delivery charges is required 14 days before date of hire. Goods will not be despatched without cleared funds being received and non-payment will automatically constitute cancellation. Additional invoices will be raised and sent within 7 days of the date of hire for any late additions, damages, cleaning or missing items and payment is required within 14 days.

In the event of hirer cancelling the contract between 2 weeks and 7 days of date of hire a cancellation fee equivalent to the deposit will be charged. If cancellation occurs within 7 days the full hire charge will become due.

Approved credit account customers shall pay the price in full strictly 14 days after invoice date, if payment is not made on or before the due date any discounts will be removed and the Company will charge interest at the rate of 8% per annum above the base lending rate of National Westminister Bank Plc from the due date for payment until the date of actual payment and shall further be entitled to statutory compensation pursuant to the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Regulations 2002.

Delivery & Collection
We will be pleased to arrange delivery and/or collection of goods on a door to door service, any access restrictions need to be provided at time of order. The charge will depend on distance, size of load and accessibility. A quote can be provided in advance. An additional quote for set up and pull down may be obtained as this is not included within the hire price. All timings indicated in any correspondence are approximate and we cannot be held liable for any delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We reserve the right to refuse delivery or collection if not notified in advance of the requirement to take goods up or down stairs, lifts or escalators; unfolding, setting-up or folding and stacking items; moving third party items to gain access; or unscheduled waiting for access to delivery or collection point.

Collection and delivery from our premises is welcome with advance notice in a vehicle that is appropriate to ensure that the items hired are not lost or damaged during transportation.

Goods should be accepted and signed for by Hirer upon delivery and any damage or discrepancies to the items hired must be notified to Chic Event Hire Ltd within 12 hours of delivery or collection.

Condition of Goods
Crockery, cutlery and glasses will be despatched clean. All items hired under the full washing service need to be rinsed after use, crockery and serving dishes must be scraped clean. Glasses should be emptied and repacked upright. Items should be packaged in the containers provided. In the event of items hired under the self cleaning arrangement being returned dirty there will be an additional charge equivalent to the difference between the two published charges together with an administration charge of £25.

Electrical items are fully checked to be in working order prior to dispatch. They are regularly maintained and PAT tested. Copies of certificates can be emailed in advance if notice is given.

Linen and chair covers will be delivered pressed and soiled linen/chair covers should not be packed away wet as they will be ruined by mildew. The use of non drip candles is highly recommended and a minimum £5 per item charge will be levied for wax removal. Permanent damage to linen will result in the full replacement charge being levied.

Right to Substitute Goods
Chic Event Hire Ltd reserve the right to substitute any item with the nearest type or size of item should the original choice not be available for causes beyond our control. There will be no additional charges levied for any upgraded items and in the unfortunate event of cheaper or smaller items the balance will be returned to the hirer.

The hirer is held responsible for the loss or damage to the equipment and containers hired including boxes, cartons, and dividers during the period of hire. Chic Event Hire Ltd reserve the right to charge for all items lost or damaged at current replacement price, plus an administration of £10 or 10% of order value (whichever is the higher). A replacement prices is available on request. Replacement items substituted by customers will not be accepted.

No responsibility can be accepted for injury, accident or damage caused by the use or misuse of the equipment and containers supplied. Furthermore Chic Event HIre Ltd is under no liability whatsoever for any injury, accident or damage to persons or property or loss of profit, whether current or in the future, claimed by the hirer in respect of any interruptions, delays, inaccuracies, errors, ommissions or any failure to deliver or from the use of any equipment under hire.

If the hirer wishes to insure the goods whilst in their possession they are advised to cover the full replacement value.

Ownership of Goods
All equipment and containers hired including boxes, cartons and dividers remain the property of Chic Event Hire Ltd.
